Abia State Governor, Alex Otti has carried out a monitor reshufflement in his cabinet and sworn-in two new Commissioners and a Special Adviser.
The two new Commissioners are Mrs Salome Obiukwu who is now in charge of Ministry of Trade and Commerce, and Chiemela Uzoije who heads the Ministry of Housing.
Otti also swore in Christian Enweremadu as the Special Adviser to the Governor on Agriculture.
The Abia Governor who announced the splitting of Ministry of Lands and Housing into two different Ministries, said that Chaka Chukwumerije will be in charge of Ministry of Lands while Chiemela Uzoije serves as Commissioner for Housing.
Kingsley Nwokocha was moved from Trade and Commerce to Ministry of Labour and Productivity.
In his speech, Governor Otti advised the new appointees to serve with dedication, warning them that his administration has zero tolerance for corruption.
“Our administration has zero tolerance for corruption. We shall not hesitate to do what has to be done whenever credible evidence of compromise and bad behavior is presented to us”
He urged his new aides to see their appointments as call to serve, not an invitation to jamboree.
Responding to Governor Otti’s charge, the new Commissioner for Trade and Commerce, Mrs Salome Obiukwu who spoke on behalf of her colleagues, promised to serve with dedication.
