Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, has commended the restructuring and expansion of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) across the state, declaring that the party has earned the trust and goodwill of Osun people from all walks of life.
Naija News reports that the governor’s remarks followed the successful conclusion of the PDP ward congresses held across the state.
In a statement signed by his spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, Governor Adeleke expressed satisfaction with the rising strength of the PDP despite recent controversies.
He noted that his unscheduled visits to different parts of the state confirmed the strong bond between the people and his administration.
“I visited several parts of the state in recent weeks without prior announcement and the feedback on ground was deeply positive. Osun people acknowledge that our party and its government not only meant well, but have actually demonstrated strong capacity to deliver on good governance across the sectors of the state economy,” Adeleke said.
Describing the Osun PDP as “a party of the people, serving only the aspirations and interests of the people,” the governor highlighted the stream of endorsements his government and party had received in recent months.
“In the last few months, unsolicited endorsement of our party and government in terms of our performance and electability has become almost a weekly occurrence. All critical sectors of Osun society have declared support for our party and state leadership,” he said.
According to him, no party in recent Osun history has garnered such broad grassroots support.
PDP Consolidating Ahead of 2026
Adeleke insisted that the PDP’s restructuring at the local level and its widening reach have positioned it as the most popular party in the state.
“The PDP has restructured locally and expanded its reach. PDP is without doubt the most popular political party in Osun State today. While others are battling each other in their unpopular party, Osun PDP is consolidating and reaffirming itself as the party of the people for 2026 and beyond,” the Osun State Governor declared.
He congratulated the state PDP leadership for the successful conduct of the ward congresses, praising the efforts of the Sunday Bisi-led leadership, the Stakeholders’ Forum, and his Chief of Staff for working hard to “restore and expand the PDP winning card.”
Reassuring the people of Osun of his administration’s commitment, Adeleke pledged to continue delivering good governance and prioritising development.
“We assure the people of Osun State of our determination to continue to provide good governance leadership. The party and the administration have resolved to continue to prioritise both hard and soft infrastructure from now to 2026 and beyond,” he said.
