In a very resplendent movie tailored towards boasting the candidacy of a home boy, the Orsumenyi Elite group on Saturday pledged total support to Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu, the APC candidate in the November 8, governorship election in Anambra state.

Ukachukwu hails from Orsumenyi town in Nnewi South council area of the state. The Orsumenyi Elite comprises individuals of diverse professions and Businesses who are from the town.

The group is led by Chief Frances Umeh, a business man and Chairman of Lagos based SEFCON Nigeria Limited who took his members to Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu to lend their support, donating in the process two branded Sienna campaign vehicles, vests and Fez caps.
Chief Umeh who spoke on behalf of the group told the Ukachukwu family who received them with open hands that there is strength in unity, a reason they had come to identify with Prince Ukachukwu ‘s noble ambition which he described as an “Orsumenyi Project”, hence forth.
“We have come to support you with a view to strengthening your campaigns for the November 8, governorship election in the state on APC platform.
“We know that with our support and the massive support and solidarity you already gotten across the state and beyond, victory is assured.
“Honestly, we are not supporting you because you are our son, our own, but because we know your capacity, competence and pedigree.

“We know who you are and we know that in the pack for the race to Agu-Awka government house in Awka, you remained the best, most qualified and most credible of the lots.

“The governorship project is now a collective one for every Orsumenyi indigene going forward. It is no longer yours alone. The gesture you have seen being extended to you is just a tip of the iceberg.
“More gestures are coming “, he said and explained how they had been mobilizing support for the APC candidate before then.

He further explained how they would mobilize voters even beyond the shores of the town and ensure that their members in other states of the federation and in the diaspora were mobilized back to the town a few days to election to perform their civic responsibility of voting for their son.
Other Support groups like the “Ikukuoma Youth Movement”, the “Ezinifite Community Support Group”, and the Lagos branch of “Ikemba Front” showed up on solidarity too with different campaign materials.
The Lagos branch of Ikemba Front led by Tochukwu Michael said that their members had before coming to visit resolved to come back enmass during the election to vote for the APC candidate because they knew that under his leadership of the state, the insecurity ravaging the state would be a thing of the past within a space of time
Prince Linus Ukachukwu, Prince Nicholas’ immediate elder brother who first spoke praised the Orsumenyi Elite group for their solidarity and support which he observed was manifestly done in good spirits.
He expressed the family’s appreciation for the gestures, saying “no support is either too small or too big”.He acknowledged the fact there’s strength in unity because “if we stand united our mission shall be accomplished and crowned with glory by the grace of God”.
“You are right when you said that the project is no longer Ikukuoma ‘s alone. I believe you. It is beyond what one person shall do alone.

“We have seen people from other communities come here to pledge their support and to deliver Ikukuoma as the next governor of Anambra state.
“You can now see why we are happy when you came calling because it shows that the APC candidate in the November 8 guber polls is not a prophet despised by his own people. You recognize his worth and what he can do.
“But as his kiths and kins, you must do more by intensifying the campaigns and spread his vision of a new Anambra that will beneficial to every citizen _, he said and prayed God to bless them and all those who had stood by his brother’s candidacy.

Prince Elias Ukachukwu, another elderly member of the family told the elite group that Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu’s governorship if God puts him in the saddle will transcend Orsumenyi.
“He is not going to be Governor for Orsumenyi people alone. He will be governor of the entire state. This project is truly Orsumenyi’ s . It is not a thing for Ukachukwu family but yours. We are gratified that you understood it and are coming out in unity to pursue this common course.
“If he succeeds, the name of Orsumenyi will be on the map and known everywhere and that is enough pride for us.
“Besides, people from other communities come here pledge their support because they have seen in him

the capacity to lead, and his robust programmes to take Anambra to the next level of development.
“They have also seen that quality in him, that empathy, that milk of human kindness -qualities that marked him out from the crowd and knew that he would run an inclusive government with a human face, and deliver Anambra from bad governance that has been its lots all these years”, he told them.,
He added that their gesture remained symbolic and attest to their realization that unity and Progressive ideals go together in the attainment of victory.
The elated APC candidate in the November polls, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu told them he was simply overwhelmed.
“Over the years, I have received support from different quarters but this particular support touches me differently.
“It reinforced my belief that this project is not personal but truly that of Orsumenyi.
He pledged not to let the community and the state down if by God’s grace he was given the mandate to govern because he had a clear vision of where he was coming from and what to do in government to effectively change people’s lives for the better.
He said he had robust blue print on how to tackle the state’s security challenges within three months in office, embark on massive infrastructural development, improved power supply, mechanized agriculture, ease of doing business, thriving business opportunities which must start with a secured state and uninterrupted power supply anchored on an independent power plant for the state, an education sector , health and aviation sectors the people would be proud of among others.

“With your support and encouragement like this,I know that this dream is realisable and we shall achieve more together because we are united by a common purpose to bequeath good governance to this generation of Anambra people and the ones yet unborn”, he said.
He therefore enjoined the Orsumenyi Elite group other support groups that came from adjoining communities not to relent but to go back and campaign vigorously for victory on November 8.
