Leading Fintech firm, OPay, has reinforced its commitment to empowering Nigerian youth by hosting the “Empowering Futures Conference 2025” in Lagos and launching a ₦1.2 billion university scholarship.
The Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) event, which took place today at Marriott Hotel in Ikeja, brought together academics, policymakers, tech experts, notable celebrities, and members of the media to celebrate OPay’s growing impact in education and youth development.
During the event, OPay introduced several new programs under its Corporate Social Responsibility agenda. Among them is the ₦1.2 billion, 10-year scholarship program developed in partnership with Nigerian universities.
The scholarship is dedicated to sponsoring 400 students annually across Nigerian universities, covering 20 tertiary institutions across all six geopolitical zones, and providing students with financial support for tuition, accommodation, and essential study materials.
The company also unveiled its CyberLab Project, a digital skills initiative designed to establish innovation labs across Nigerian campuses to promote tech-driven learning and creativity.
Present at the event were the likes of Funke Akindele, Nancy Isime, Enioluwa, Lay Wasabi, Tunde Onakoya, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, KieKie, and others.
With these new CSR projects, OPay continues to show that its mission goes beyond financial technology.
These efforts underscore OPay’s dedication to building a future where Nigerian youth have the skills, resources, and confidence to succeed.
