At least one person has been confirmed dead, and two others kidnapped following a violent attack by bandits in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State on Monday.
Security expert Zagazola Makama reported that the attack occurred at approximately 12:15 a.m. when a group of youths were ambushed on their way to Barkin Ladi town.
According to Makama, the heavily armed assailants opened fire, killing one youth, identified as Dayes Alexander, 25, while abducting two others, Palang Daniel, 26, and Gabriel Ayuba, 25, to an unknown location.

He added that security operatives were promptly deployed to the area and were combing the surrounding bushes in an effort to rescue the kidnapped victims.

Makama further noted that the remains of the deceased were released to the family for burial after an autopsy was declined.
This attack adds to the growing concerns over banditry and insecurity in Plateau State, prompting calls for heightened security measures.
