In a move to ensuring inclusive governance for maximum development, Ondo State government has concluded plans to launch Omoluabi Ambassadors, a series of initiatives aimed at promoting ethical values, strengthening media engagement, and fostering inclusive governance across the state.

This was disclosed by the state Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Idowu Ajanaku on Sunday.

According to a statement signed by Abiodun Omotoso, Information Manager,
Office of the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, the Commissioner explained that stated that the government was committed to launching an intensive statewide campaign against social vices.

Ajanaku also disclosed that citizens of the state, who exemplified excellence and good character, would also be recognized through the new platform.

Explaining how the campaign would be carried out, the Commissioner said the campaign against social vices would be all-inclusive, as market women, students, religious leaders, traditional rulers, NGOs, and civil servants would be involved with a view to ensuring a statewide moral rebirth.

He disclosed that exceptional indigenes of the state who have distinguished themselves across different fields of endeavours would be unveiled as Omoluabi Ambassadors of Ondo State.

Ajanaku said such personalities would serve as role models for other indigenes to emulate.

He said: “When the time comes for unveiling, everyone will know them.”

Meanwhile, the commissioner has disclosed that the state government has approved the purchase of a state-of-the-art TV transmitter for the state-owned television and radio stations.

He said the transmitter would improve the reach and coverage of Ondo State Radiovision Corporation(OSRC) Television.

Ajanaku said the new transmitter would fast-track the process of getting the station on DSTV, which remains one of the major targets of the present administration.

Ajanaku emphasized his determination to unify media practitioners in the state and enhance communication between the government and the people through accurate and efficient news dissemination.

The Commissioner said some individuals would be selected as adhoc media officers and deployed to all the 203 electoral wards in Ondo State to serve as grassroots correspondents for all the stations with a view to ensuring the voice of the people is heard.

He said: “In line with the government’s digital drive, a mobile application is currently being developed. The app will help combat fake news, facilitate opinion polls, gather news from the grassroots, and serve as a feedback mechanism for the public.”

Ajanaku assured the people of the state that the vision of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa encapsulated in the OUR EASE agenda is already yielding results across the state.

He described this as a new dawn in Ondo State, affirming that the dividends of good governance would soon be evenly felt across all localities in the state.
