Officials of the Ondo State Police Command have apprehended two brothers suspected of involvement in a robbery operation following a raid on a mechanic workshop in Ore, the administrative centre of Odigbo Local Government Area.
The suspects, identified as Monday Akinmusere and Oluwaseun Akinmusere, were arrested on Saturday, October 11, 2025, after police officers from the Ore Divisional Headquarters acted on a reliable intelligence report.
In a statement released on Sunday, the Command’s spokesperson, DSP Olayinka Ayanlade, confirmed the arrest, noting that a locally made pistol and one live cartridge were recovered during the operation.

According to the statement, “Acting on a credible tip-off from a reliable source, on Saturday, 11th October 2025, at about 5:15 p.m., the Divisional Police Officer, Ore, led his team to raid a mechanic workshop located off Okitipupa Road, Ore.”
“During the operation, two suspects — one Monday Akinmusere and Oluwaseun Akinmusere, both males and residents of Ore — were arrested,” the statement continued.
It added that, “A thorough search of the premises led to the recovery of a locally fabricated pistol with one live cartridge.”
DSP Ayanlade further noted, “The suspects are currently in custody, and investigations are ongoing to determine the source of the firearm and establish any connections with other criminal networks in the area.”
The Commissioner of Police, Adebowale Lawal, lauded the officers for their prompt and professional action. He also appreciated members of the public for providing timely intelligence and urged continuous community cooperation to strengthen security in the state.
