A staff member of the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Owo, Mr. Ayodeji Akesinro, was abducted by gunmen in Ondo State on Thursday.
It was reported that Akesinro was kidnapped at his home in Upenme community, Owo Local Government Area, around 7 pm on the day of the attack.
The State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Adebowale Lawal, confirmed the incident on Friday, stating that the command, in collaboration with other security agencies, had launched an operation to apprehend the culprits and secure the victim’s release.

The CP emphasized that all efforts are being made to ensure Akesinro is rescued unharmed and that those responsible are brought to justice.
He said: “Our men are currently inside the bush in collaboration with other sister security agencies to rescue the victim.
“Let me assure you that we are not resting to ensure the citizens of the state are well secured.
