The people of Ebem Ohafia, Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency, witnessed a significant milestone as Ibe Okwara Osonwa (Oke Abba 1 of Ohafia) officially flagged off the construction of a three-kilometre Federal High Court Road, Mgbaga -Arochukwu/Bende Road in Ebem Ohafia Local Government Area, Abia State.
The project, facilitated by Osonwa and executed by Mandsons Global Services Ltd., is expected to enhance road accessibility, ease traffic congestion and promote economic development in the region.
During the event, the paramount ruler of Ebem Ohafia, Eze Ukoha Kalu Ukoha, emphasised the road’s significance, noting that it serves as the only route leading into Ebem ancestral village. He highlighted that the project would ease movement, especially during festive seasons, when traffic congestion is at its peak.
Chief Eme Iro Eme, deputy chairman of Ohafia Local Government, commended Osonwa for his commitment to infrastructural development. He assured the community of continued efforts to bring democratic dividends to the people of Ohafia.
Representing Osonwa at the event, Ukariwe Inyima Uduma, reassured residents that more developmental projects would be executed across the Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency. He urged communities in both Arochukwu and Ohafia LGAs to remain patient, as projects would be implemented in phases to ensure equitable distribution of resources.
Expressing the community’s appreciation, Chief Lochi Ngam, 1st Vice President General of the Ebem Ohafia Development Union (EODU), who represented Chief Emeka Mba, President General of EODU, pledged the community’s unwavering support for the project and lauded Osonwa for his vision in advancing the constituency.
In a personal message, Chief Mba extended his heartfelt appreciation to Osonwa for his tireless efforts in ensuring the commencement of the road construction.
He further praised his dogged and resilient representation in the Green Chambers of the National Assembly, emphasising his consistent support for the growth and development of the Ohafia/Arochukwu Federal Constituency.
Apologising for his absence at the event due to personal and health-related engagements, Chief Mba reaffirmed his commitment to supporting infrastructural development in Ebem Ohafia.
The flag-off ceremony was graced by several dignitaries, including the councilor representing Ebem Oha ward in Ohafia legislative council, Ukariwe Inyima, EODU executives, Ebem youth leaders, Ebem council of chiefs and elders as well as party members, ward councillors, association leaders and various support groups.
The Eze Ogo Ebem in Council (EODU) and the entire people of Ebem Ohafia ancient kingdom expressed their profound gratitude to Osonwa for the project. They reaffirmed their support for his administration and looked forward to continued infrastructural transformation in the constituency.
