Ogun: Police Inspector d!es inside hotel, mistress flees

A police inspector identified as Haruna Mohammed has been found dead in a hotel located at Akute area of Ogun state. 

A woman who arrived the hotel with the deceased is however at large, as police begins manhunt for her. 

Confirming the incident, the Ogun command spokesperson, CSP Omolola Odutola, stated that although no identity card was found on the officer, further investigation however, revealed that the deceased is serving at Ishashi Division in Lagos command. 

“At first it was the uniform found in his bag, so it was not possible to say he is a police officer they was no identification card on him or his belonging, its by further investigation that revealed that the deceased is an Inspector of police serving with Ishashi division in Lagos command. 

“The DPO have been contacted and his body identified.  We have started a manhunt for the fleeing lady”, she said.

Meanwhile, according to a police memo detailing the situation report, hotel manager Deborah Adejobi found their room unlocked at about 8:52 am.

When she checked inside, she discovered the officer’s lifeless body while the woman was nowhere to be found.

The hotel owner, Abiodun Olagunju, reported the case to the police.

According to the memo, the woman had earlier visited the reception at about 6:00 am to request table water.

The police have however, described Mohammed’s death as “unnatural.”

His body has been removed and deposited at Life Channel Mortuary in Olambe, Ogun state.
