Ogun: 9 dead in fatal accident 

Nine persons have lost their lives in a fatal accident along the Ayetoro area of Lagos-Ibadan expressway, on Monday February 24, 2025.

The accident involving two vehicles with registration numbers, UYY165ZY Toyota Hiace bus and DKA244XC Truck, also has about three persons sustain various degree of injuries. 

Confirming the incident, the Federal Road Saftey Corps (FRSC) Public Education Officer, CRC Florence Okpe, noted that the suspected cause of the accident was excessive speed. 

“The suspected causes of the fatal crash were excessive speed and fatigue which led to loss of control and the driver rammed into a station truck. 

“The injured victims were taken to Famobis Hospital mowe while the deceased were deposited at Idera morgue Sagamu.

“The Sector Commander Corps Commander Fasakin  Akinwumi  is  pained over the recklessness of some drivers  for not observing the stipulated speed limit and refusal to obey the 15 minutes rest after 4 hrs journey.

“He sympathize with the family of the crash victims and enjoined them to contact Mowe unit Command for more information about the crash”, she said
