Chief Solomon Ogbonna has said that the recent Igbo Heritage Day that was celebrated by Igbo people in Lagos was done in violation of a subsisting order given by a court of competent jurisdiction.
He threatened to arrest organizers of the event.
He also said that headquarters of Ohanaeze Ndigbo had directed that the event should not be held in Lagos, adding that it was done in disobedience of the leadership of the organization.
He argued that the event that took place in Ikeja was an event to mark the birthday of a prominent Igbo leader.
According to Ogbonna, a court had pronounced him, as the president of Lagos Ohanaeze, and asked all who disagree to go to court and vacate it instead of disobeying the order of a valid court order.
Ogbonna also threatened that the long arms of the will catch up with all who organized the Igbo Heritage Day event.
He disclosed that many Igbo leaders did not attend the event because they saw it as illegal.
He charged Igbo people living in Lagos to be law-abiding and work to unite to uplift the Igbo nation.
