Odumegwu-Ojukwu speaks on #AnambraElection2025 – Blueprint Newspapers Limited


Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Amb. Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, has described the ongoing Anambra governorship election as peaceful and largely free of major disruptions.

The minister made the remark shortly after casting her vote at about 12:25 p.m. at Polling Unit 001, Ward 2, located within the premises of St. Stephen’s Anglican Church, Okpuno-Egbu, Umudim Nnewi, in Nnewi North Local Government Area.

Amb. Odumegwu-Ojukwu, who also observed the election at several polling units in Uruagu Ward 2, commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for what she described as “satisfactory and commendable performance.”

She noted that the commission had ensured the timely arrival of electoral materials, the presence of security personnel, and the smooth conduct of voting in the areas she monitored.

Teeming voters at Polling Unit 019 and other locations in Uruagu Ward 2 reportedly sang praises for the minister as she moved through the polling units, highlighting her influence and popularity in the area.

Ahead of the announcement of the election results, Amb. Odumegwu-Ojukwu urged all contestants to accept the outcome in good faith, stressing that peace and respect for the electoral process were paramount.

“The ultimate goal is to elect a governor who serves the interests of the people of Anambra State,” she said, emphasizing the importance of putting the welfare of citizens above partisan politics.

She concluded by appealing to voters, candidates, and political parties to uphold the integrity of the election and to work together to ensure a smooth transition and governance after the polls.
