Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, extended heartfelt congratulations to Hon. Ndudi Elumelu, the former Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, as he marks his 60th birthday.
In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, Governor Oborevwori lauded Elumelu for his significant contributions as a legislator, representing the Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency.
The Governor highlighted Elumelu’s impactful role in the National Assembly, particularly noting his involvement in the inquiry into the electricity sector, which remains relevant today.
“You have been an outstanding lawmaker, serving as a source of inspiration for both current and future politicians, even beyond the halls of Parliament,” Governor Oborevwori remarked.
He reminisced about Elumelu’s leadership of the House committees on health and power from 2007 to 2010 and again from 2011 to 2015, expressing pride in the positive impact of his work on the nation’s development, especially in those sectors.
Governor Oborevwori added, “It is our hope that you continue to enjoy good health and experience many more fruitful years ahead.
We take great pride in your leadership during your tenure as Minority Leader and the significant advancements you championed in infrastructure and human capital development, which will continue to motivate others in their pursuit of nation-building.”
On behalf of the Delta State government and its citizens, the Governor congratulated Elumelu, affectionately referring to him as his brother and friend, as he celebrates this milestone.
“We pray that you are blessed with continued health and even greater achievements in the years to come,” he concluded.
