The Oba of Benin, Uku Akpolokpolo, Ewuare II, has approved the appointment of Pa Victor Okungbowa as the Odionwere of Ureghin community in Oredo local government area of Edo state.
Palace chiefs, Uyi Okungbowa, the Ogua of Benin, and Chief Isaac Oghafua Oyeoba, the Oyeoba of Benin, conveyed the decision of Oba Ewuare II, to elders of Ureghin community during a meeting held in the Oba’s palace, Benin City.
This was contained in a press statement issued Monday by Osaigbovo Iguobaro, the chief press secretary to Oba of Benin, Ewuare II.
The statement added that “following the appointment, the people of Ureghin converged at Ogua’edion (Elders chamber) of the community where Pa. Okungbowa was installed as the Odionwere (Village head) of Ureghin weekend.
”During his installation ceremony, Pa. Okungbowa presented Mr. Uyi Igbinosun, as the new Okaighele of Ureghin community, after they both voluntarily subscribed to the necessary traditional rites in line with Benin customs and tradition.”
