AWKA – As the date of party primary election approaches, Labour Party front runner Mr. John Chuma Nwosu has addressed the first 2025 Meeting of the Associates of Peter Obi (APO), in Awka where he once again outlined his “vision and action plan for a secure and prosperous Anambra State”.
Addressing the group During Nwosu stressed the need for continuity in governance drawing the gathering’s attention to the similarities and nexus between his political philosophy and Peter Obi’s which he described as “optimal governance model”.
According to Nwosu, the most topical issue prepccupying Anambra State is insecurity which outlined his short and long term plan.
This includes deploying cutting-edge technology. He stressed that with some forward planning, he intended to establish a security command and control center within 48 hours of assuming office as a Governor, along with operational plan of installing advanced tracking devices, and deploying forensic experts.
He reiterated that under his watch, there will be zero-tolerance for crime and criminality; as with his background as ICT guru, “nobody can commit crime and go free in Anambra State”.
According to him he will “put an end to the transactional ad hoc methods of conditional cash transfer (CCT) and instead, review the exant Legislative mandate and database that would allow the government to cater for the aged and indigent through transparent social safety net initiatives”.
Besides, he promised to commence the foundational basis for a mass transit monorail system that will connect the Onitsh-Nnewi- Awka axis with Ekwulobia, with a view to boosting commerce, development and economic expansion.
Nwosu, however, urged them to collectively and individually get involved in the ongoing effort to secure Anambra again, more so since the dismal track record of the Soludo Administration over the past three years left a lot to be desired#
