NUPENG Suspends Nationwide Strike Following Meeting With Dangote Group

The Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) has officially suspended its ongoing nationwide strike, which was initially triggered by a dispute with the Dangote Group.

The union had announced the industrial action on Monday to protest the Dangote Group’s alleged refusal to allow its employees to join NUPENG, citing concerns over union representation.

According to Vanguard, the strike was called off after both parties reached an agreement during a high-level meeting convened by the Department of State Services (DSS).
