The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kano State Command, has arrested three suspected drug dealers in Doguwa Local Government Area and handed them over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for further investigation and prosecution.
The State Commandant of the NSCDC, Bala Bawa Bodinga, disclosed this while addressing journalists at the Corps’ headquarters in Kano on Friday.
According to him, the arrest was made in the early hours of Tuesday, October 7, 2025, following credible intelligence that led operatives from the Doguwa Division to intercept the suspects at Riruwai Gate in Doguwa.
He said the main suspect, identified as Yusuf Alasan, 25, and two others, Muktar Musa and Musa Sani, were apprehended while transporting three sugar-sized sacks filled with marijuana (commonly known as “wiwi”) on a motorbike from Doguwa town to Kafau within the same Local Government Area.
“Preliminary investigations have been concluded by the Corps, and in the spirit of inter-agency collaboration, we are handing over the suspects and the recovered exhibits to the NDLEA, Kano State Command, for further investigation and necessary legal action,” Commandant Bodinga stated.
He emphasized that the NSCDC remains resolute in its mission to rid Kano State of criminal elements and ensure the protection of critical national assets and infrastructure.
“Under my watch, the NSCDC will continue to collaborate with sister security agencies to dismantle criminal networks and ensure peace and security across the state.” he added.
