ABUJA – The National Population Commission (NPC) said it is saddened by the loss of two iconic Nigerian leaders: Pa Ayo Adebanjo, leader of Afenifere, and Pa Edwin Clark, leader of PANDEF.
A statement on Wednesday issued by Nasir Isa Kwarra, Chairman of NPC, on behalf of the management and staff of the Commission, extended his deepest condolences to their families and the Government and people of their respective states as well as Nigerians in general.
According to Kwarra, “Pa Ayo Adebanjo and Pa Edwin Clark were true icons, whose contributions to justice, democracy and national unity will be sorely missed.
“They are two towering figures that have dedicated their lives to the development and progress of Nigeria.
“Their contributions to the nation’s growth and unity are immeasurable. As a nation, we owe them a debt of gratitude for their selfless service and leadership.
“As we mourn their passing, we celebrate their remarkable lives and achievements.
“May their legacies continue to inspire future generations of Nigerians to work towards a united and prosperous nation.”
