According to Zagazola, the fatal confrontation stemmed from a fallout between Jankare and another bandit commander following disagreements over recent operations and control of areas in Dutsenma and surrounding local government regions.

Jankare, infamous for orchestrating deadly attacks, mass kidnappings, and cattle rustling across the region, was killed during the violent clash.

The slain kingpin had gained notoriety not only for his crimes but also for his brazen social media activity, frequently posting videos on TikTok displaying firearms and taunting security agencies.

Sources revealed that Jankare had attended a recent meeting of bandit leaders aimed at resolving internal conflicts and coordinating activities shortly before the dispute escalated into his killing.

Security forces are closely monitoring the situation to avert potential reprisals between the warring factions.
