Northern group says Tinubu on course to safeguard pipeline infrastructure

From Okwe Obi, Abuja

Northern Youths Progressive Network reiterated the commitment of President Bola Tinubu in safeguarding the country’s pipeline infrastructure.

It noted that the protection of Nigeria’s oil pipelines manned by Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, has largely saved the country from oil theft and vandalism.

NYPN Convener, Bala Mohammed, in a statement yesterday, lambasted a group known as Arewa Youth Alliance for Progress and Developmental (AYAPD) for attempting to tarnish the image of Tantita Security firm.

According to Mohammed, “these allegations are baseless and malicious, aiming to tarnish the reputation of a top-performing private security organization dedicated to ending pipeline vandalism in the Niger Delta region.”

He added: “The Federal Government, under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership, made a wise decision to engage Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, given its expertise in pipeline surveillance.

“This move has significantly boosted revenue generation and protected national assets.

“The Northern Youths Progressive Network condemns the allegations as repugnant and a sponsored attack by those involved in the criminal diversion of national resources.

“Since its engagement in 2022, Tantita’s activities have received widespread acclaim from stakeholders in the oil sector and the government.

“Contrary to claims made by the so-called Arewa Youth Alliance for Progress and Development, Tantita has never made secret or unlawful arrests. Instead, it collaborates with the Armed forces, department of State security, the police and the NSCDC. They apprehend offenders and hand over to the appropriate authority for persecution and not as alleged.

“The Northern Youths Progressive Network urges the public to disregard the misleading statement issued by the Arewa Youth Alliance for Progress and Development.

“Notably, Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited has created over 47,000 jobs in the Niger Delta, improving the socioeconomic development of the region, also contributing to the recovery of degraded environment caused by oil theft.

“Accordingly, Tantita’s activities have contributed significantly to revenue growth, positioning the nation for economic prosperity and infrastructural development in line with the president Renewed Hope Agenda.”
