American singer, songwriter, and dancer Ciara Princess Wilson is wowed by Lagos’ transformation during her visit for Lagos Fashion Week, praising the city for its newfound cleanliness and development.
Reflecting on her past visits to Nigeria, the international star noted that Lagos once had dirty, congested streets.
This time, however, she was pleasantly surprised by the city’s paved roads and evident development, praising the government for doing a good job.

She said, “I’m so happy to be here and really glad. No, this is not my first time — I know Lagos. When I used to land, I would see dirty roads, but now it’s all clean and has changed.”
Her glowing remarks highlight Lagos’ progress in urban development and cleanliness, earning admiration from fans and residents who celebrated the city’s growth.
While some praised her for acknowledging the good work in Lagos, others criticized the singer, urging her to visit less-developed areas to see the city in its entirety.
One commentator wrote, “Finally, someone global recognizes Lagos’ transformation. Welcome back, Ciara!.” Another added, “Ciara needs to visit Mushin or Ajegunle to understand Lagos properly.”
Beyond infrastructure, Ciara’s visit emphasizes Lagos’ rising status as a hub for fashion, culture, and international tourism, showcasing its potential as a destination for global events and celebrities.
