Heartland technical adviser Emmanuel Amuneke believed his side deserved the win over Inter Lagos in their Nigeria National League, NNL, matchday four encounter.

The Naze Millionaires defeated the visitors 3-2 in a keenly contested matchday four encounter at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri on Saturday.

It was Heartland’s second win in the NNL this season.

The Owerri club moved to second position on the Conference A table following the win.

“The victory will definitely help us in our standings on the league table,” Amuneke stated in a post-match interview.

“It was a very good game, Inter Lagos are also a good and energetic side. They gave us a very difficult challenge in the game, we needed to win and we won against Inter Lagos.

“In football you cannot explain everything immediately, we will go back and review everything and improve from there.”
