“A total of nine victims have been rescued. Five individuals have been successfully resuscitated.

“Several others escaped unhurt while efforts are currently ongoing to resuscitate remaining four individuals,” the agency said.

In a previous report, the Service noted that the fire started in the building’s basement inverter room.

The fire produced thick smoke across several floors, prompting the immediate evacuation of occupants following a distress call received around 13:38 hours.

Videos shared on social media captured thick smoke and scenes of panic, with residents and passersby assisting in evacuating people before emergency responders arrived.

The Fire and Rescue Service stated that its personnel later brought the fire under control and carried out search-and-rescue as well as medical operations at the scene.
