The English FA has announced squads for the opening internationals of the 2025/26 season, with an impressive 17 players of Nigerian descent earning call-ups across various age groups.

Arsenal starlet Ethan Nwaneri and Chelsea forward Tyrique George headline the England U21 squad for a European Championship qualifier against Kazakhstan.

At the U20 level, Crystal Palace defender Eyimofe Jemide, Rangers full-back Jayden Meghoma, Aston Villa midfielder Jamaldeen Jimoh, and Manchester City forward Justin Oboavwoduo have been named to face Italy in Chesterfield.

Tottenham midfielder Callum Olusesi joins the U19 for a training camp in Spain, where England will play Ukraine, Spain and the Netherlands.

Despite recent links to the Super Eagles, Chelsea striker Chizzy Ezenwata has been included in the U18 squad alongside Liverpool’s Rio Ngumoha and West Ham goalkeeper Lanre Awesu for the Costa de la Luz Tournament in Spain.

At U17 level, Newcastle United’s Sam Alabi and Everton’s Malik Olayiwola are part of Liam Bramley’s squad for games against Venezuela, Israel and Germany.
