Nigerian Man With Thai Wife Arrested in Bangkok for Drug Trafficking


 

A Nigerian man, Ukwe Vincent Chisom, 33, and his Thai wife, Ms. Kesini, 30, were apprehended on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, in their condominium on Sri Nakarin Road, Samrong Nuea subdistrict, Muang district, Samut Prakan province, for operating a drug trafficking network in Bangkok’s Sukhumvit district.

The arrests followed an investigation by the Metropolitan Police, which uncovered the couple’s illicit activities. 

Surveillance by the Child and Women Welfare Division led to their capture at their residence, where authorities seized 99 grams of cocaine, three mobile phones, and assets worth over 700,000 baht ($21,660) linked to serious drug offenses.

Both suspects confessed to illegally entering Thailand via natural border crossings in Nong Khai province. 

They admitted to sourcing drugs in Sukhumvit and distributing them in the Sri Nakarin area, with Ms. Kesini renting the condominium and managing bank accounts for drug money transfers.

The couple faces charges of jointly trafficking Category 2 narcotics (cocaine) through unauthorized possession for commercial distribution, contributing to drug proliferation. 

Additionally, Chisom, as a foreign national, faces charges for illegally entering and residing in Thailand without valid authorization.Both have been handed over to Samrong Nuea Police Station for further legal proceedings.
