Plateau state – A cancer patient, Safiyanu Ishaka, is calling on Nigerians to assist him in raising N2 million for his cancer surgery.
Safiyanu said he had been battling cancer for years but had no money for treatment.

As reported by Daily Trust, Safiyanu said he is battling kidney stones, which require treatment to prevent potential kidney failure.
He appealed to good Samaritans within and outside the country to help him with the cancer surgery.
Safiyanu was diagnosed with cancer at the Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital in Zaria, Kaduna state.
The resident of Yelwa in the Shendam Local Government Area of Plateau State was admitted and later discharged to raise ₦900,000 for treatment.
“While waiting to raise ₦900,000 for the cancer surgery, I was rushed to Shendam General Hospital, where I was also diagnosed with kidney stones. I was told the medication is expensive. I have been battling these problems for some years.”
Safiyanu is expected to raise about ₦2m for the treatment, but had to leave the hospital due to financial constraints.
“I am soliciting financial assistance from spirited individuals, corporate bodies, and groups. The treatment has exhausted all my resources. Now, I have been asked to pay almost ₦2,000,000 for surgery, which I cannot afford.
“I am appealing to good Samaritans to help me get out of this problem. I can be reached at 07063549711.”

Oluremi Tinubu donates N1b to fight cervical cancer
Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that First Lady Oluremi Tinubu donated ₦1 billion to the National Cancer Fund to strengthen Nigeria’s fight against cervical cancer.
The donation was made during a meeting with the National Taskforce on Cervical Cancer Elimination, coinciding with World Health Day 2025.
Health officials praised her continued support for HPV vaccination, which has already reached over 12 million girls across the country.
