A Nigerian lawyer currently working as a care assistant in the United Kingdom (UK) has made headlines after sharing details of her hourly pay.
The lawyer, @gee87849, disclosed this via the popular video-sharing platform, TikTok.
Details Of The Post
According to @gee87849, she earns N25,000 hourly and appears to be mocking critics with the viral challenge, ‘If e reach your turn’.
Although, circumstances surrounding her new occupation weren’t disclosed in the now-viral TikTok post.
The caption reads, “Make I no take care of person wey dey pay me 25k hourly?. Because I be lawyer?. You dey whyne?. If e reach your turn, no do”.
Although, her post has been flooded with mixed reactions and criticism over her job, she remains unfazed, as evident from her recent social media posts.
This isn’t the first instance of a Nigerian lawyer working overseas.
Recall that Caleb Adebayo, a Nigerian lawyer practicing with Allen and Overy in New York, shared insights on US law practice.
He obtained his law degree from Obafemi Awolowo University in 2015 and passed the New York Bar exam.
Additionally, Abdulrasheed Ijaodola, a Nigerian lawyer in New York, tweeted about eligibility to practice in the US without taking the New York and California Bar exams under certain conditions.
