On Saturday, September 27, 2025, the Nigerian dance community marked a landmark occasion at The Grand Award for Dancers and Performing Arts held at the Congress Hall of Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja.

The event, themed “Legacy in Motion,” brought together dancers, choreographers, educators, and enthusiasts in a lively celebration of Nigeria’s vibrant dance culture.

It highlighted the industry’s rich diversity, honoring performers from street artistes to professional stage dancers, as well as those behind the scenes shaping the art form’s future.

Mr. Henshaw Victory, founder of 360 Grand TV, addressed attendees, describing the award as a movement designed to secure lasting institutional support for dancers across Nigeria.

He called for increased government investment in training programs, funding, and accessible theatre spaces to grow the creative economy and provide sustainable careers for young talents.

“Our mission is to elevate dance from a mere passion to a respected profession that meaningfully contributes to Nigeria’s cultural and economic landscape,” Mr. Victory said.

He emphasized the importance of attracting public and private sector partnerships to empower Nigeria’s next generation of dancers both locally and internationally.

For many recipients, the ceremony signified more than recognition—it was a validation of their hard work, perseverance, and artistic contributions.

The platform offers new visibility and empowerment, elevating dance within mainstream entertainment and creative industries.

Organizers hailed the event as the dawn of a new era for Nigeria’s performing arts, anticipating increased professionalism, cultural exports, and investor confidence.

The successful inaugural Grand Award is poised to become a unifying institution that inspires excellence and positions Nigeria as a leading African hub for dance and performing arts.

The evening ended with a strong shared optimism that this award will continue to build momentum and foster growth in the nation’s dance industry for years to come.
