Apostle Dr Peter Enesi, the President/Rector, Royal Light Institute of Biblical Studies, Iba, Lagos, has said that despite its challenges, the church in Nigeria is doing well.
Speaking with Sunday Independent in Lagos, Apostle Eneshi who recently bagged a Fellowship of the Truth and Light Bible School, an affiliate of the University of Ibadan, stated that the Nigerian Church is in a healthy state.
Dr Enesi, who was speaking to Sunday Independent on the state of the Nigerian Church stated: “The Nigerian Church is healthy inspite of the general economic situation and its impact on the society.
“The church, as an institution, apart from its challenges as in other institutions, is strong.”
He, however, maintained that the church in Nigeria needs a revival, both general revival and internal revival to be able to meet its divine mandate of preparing for the coming of Our Lord Jesus.
According to him, “As we all are in the last days of the End-Time, it is time for the church to wake up from its slumber.
“We need a revival that will bring men to the fear of God, building men in integrity. The church should be able to influence affairs in society and governance. it should be strong enough to fight the menace of the world of darkness and wickedness.
“It should promote peace, and unity. To do this, the church must do away with denominationalism. The CAN and its blocks should work together to bring about Christian unity, so that we can have one voice.
“With one voice, the church can influence happenings, not only within the church, but also in governance.”
