Nigeria edge Rwanda to boost 2026 World Cup qualification hopes

The Super Eagles of Nigeria secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Rwanda in their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier on Saturday.

After a tightly contested first half, Tolu Arokodare broke the deadlock in the 51st minute, scoring the decisive goal that handed Nigeria all three points and kept their qualification dreams alive.

With the result, Nigeria climb to third place in Group C on 10 points from seven matches, trailing South Africa, who lead with 16 points, and Benin Republic, who sit second with 11 points.
