Nigeria Beach Soccer League Super finals: Jigawa, Anambra rule on day 2

The 2025 Nigeria Beach Soccer League (NBSL) Super Finals at Jabi Lake Park, Abuja, produced another day of pulsating action, drama, and standout performances as Anambra Beach Soccer Warriors, Jigawa Golden Stars, and Kebbi Fishers all recorded impressive results on day two.

In the opening fixture of the day, Anambra Beach Soccer Warriors edged Ibom BSC 1–0 in a tightly contested encounter.

Gabriel Chinweze was the hero, netting the game’s only goal and earning himself the Man of the Match award for his commanding display and clinical finishing that sealed all three points for the Warriors.

The second match of the day was a goal fest as Jigawa Golden Stars BSC stunned Kada BSC 5–4 in a nine-goal thriller.

Jigawa’s talisman Bagudu Hamza stole the spotlight with a sensational hat-trick, while teammates Nasiru Atahiru and Magudi Atahiru added one goal each to complete the victory.

Despite spirited efforts and goals from Frank Dozie, Sani Hassan, Victor Tale, and Tanko Emmanuel, Kada fell just short.

Hamza’s dazzling performance earned him the Man of the Match award.

In the final game of the day, Kebbi Fishers BSC showcased grit and composure, overcoming Ibom BSC 3–1 on penalties after a 1–1 draw in regulation time.

Jude Uwaoma had put Ibom ahead before Ekene Obi restored parity for Kebbi. In the ensuing shootout, Kebbi Fishers held their nerve to clinch the win, while Ibom’s Uwana Aniete was deservedly named Man of the Match for his outstanding saves and leadership between the sticks.

With the competition heating up, all eyes now turn to Day Three where fifth and sixth place classification game will take place.

The final ticket is also up for grabs as four teams brace up for semi final matches in Nigeria’s premier beach soccer competition.
