Nigeria Appoints New ECOWAS Permanent Representative



Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, has formally presented letters of credence to five newly appointed Nigerian diplomats.Leading the list is Ambassador Olawale Emmanuel Awe, who has been named Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).

The other appointees are:Ambassador Mairo Musa Abbas – Consul General, Guangzhou, China   

Ambassador N.O. Okey-Uche – Consul General, South Africa   

Ambassador Ojo Olobode Steve – Consul General, Cameroon

Ambassador Samalia Goni – Chargé d’Affaires, Tripoli, Libya

 

While presenting the letters, Minister Tuggar urged the envoys to uphold the highest standards of professionalism and work tirelessly to advance Nigeria’s national interests and foreign policy objectives abroad.

The appointments are part of ongoing efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s diplomatic presence and representation across regional and international platforms.
