Niger Tornadoes head coach, Majin Mohammed, has urged the club’s fans to keep faith with the team despite last weekend’s 2-1 home defeat to Abia Warriors in Minna.
The loss at the Bako Kontagora Stadium left many supporters frustrated, but Mohammed remains confident that his players will recover quickly and return stronger in their next outing.
“What happened in the game against Abia Warriors is common in football,” Mohammed told the club’s media team. “We also went to Kano and got three points. We will prepare again to see what we can get in Bauchi against Wikki Tourists.”
The Ikon Allah Boys currently sit fifth on the NPFL table with 17 points from 11 matches and will be hoping to bounce back when they visit Wikki Tourists at the Tafawa Balewa Stadium, Bauchi, this weekend.
Meanwhile, the Nigeria Premier League has announced a change in the date for Rivers United’s matchday 12 fixture against Kun Khalifat FC.
The match, initially set for Sunday, November 9, will now be played on Monday, November 10, at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt.
According to Kun Khalifat’s General Manager, Charles Nnadi, the decision followed a request from Rivers United, who are scheduled to play a rescheduled matchday 9 fixture against Bendel Insurance on Thursday.
“The shift in date is at the instance of Rivers United, who wrote to the NPFL seeking a slight change due to their rescheduled fixture against Bendel Insurance. The request was graciously granted by the league organisers,” Nnadi told Complete Sports.
