Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has donated 100 bags of rice and 10 cows to members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) currently undergoing orientation in the state.
The donation was made to support the feeding of corps members at the permanent orientation camp in Paiko, Paikoro Local Government Area.
The food items were formally received by the State Coordinator of NYSC, Mrs. Martina Shuaibu-Ibrahim, who expressed appreciation to the governor for his consistent commitment to the welfare of corps members in Niger State. She noted that the gesture would greatly ease their settlement in camp and enhance their capacity to contribute meaningfully to community development.

In her remarks, Shuaibu-Ibrahim said: “We sincerely appreciate His Excellency for this generous donation. His continued support shows genuine concern for the welfare of corps members in Niger State. This gesture will undoubtedly go a long way in making them comfortable and ready to render quality service.”
Corps members and camp officials also conveyed gratitude to the governor, describing the intervention as timely and impactful.
Governor Bago has over time demonstrated support for NYSC in the state. In 2024, he donated 600 bags of rice and 20 cows to corps members and further approved the payment of ₦200,000 each to 1,600 members of the 2024 Batch B, Stream 1, reinforcing his administration’s commitment to youth empowerment and national service.
