The Petroleum Environment And Solid Mineral Degradation Awareness Association (PESMDAA) Commissioner, Rivers state chapter, Dr. Prince Ogoh, weekend said the association was ready to compliment its efforts with professionalism, advocacy and grassroots mobilisation.
The PESMDAA commissioner stated this during the official inauguration of the Rivers state chapter of the association weekend in Port Harcourt and added that the gathering was not only to launch a chapter but to open a new chapter in the history of environmental advocacy and sustainable resources management in Rivers state and Nigeria Delta.
Prince Ogoni said PESMDAA was founded on a clear vision to promote a sustainable future for Nigeria by harmonising economic development through petroleum and solid minerals with environmental management.
“Our mission is to raise awareness about the environmental impacts of extraction, advocate for sustainable practices, empower communities and support government and industry in implementing solutions that balance development with ecological health,” he said.
