All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain in Niger State, Mallam Yusuf Salman, has applauded Mohammed Umar Bago’s developmental strides since he assumed office as governor.

Salman said the governor’s 40-year New Niger Development Agenda is transforming the state, driving economic growth, and improving citizens’ well-being.

“The farmer Governor has introduced innovative initiatives to revolutionise farming practices, boost productivity, and ensure food security. Through a public-private partnership with Niger Foods and Logistics Company, the state is cultivating maize, rice, millet, soybeans, sorghum, and sesame on approximately 250,000 hectares of land. This bold step has led to the deployment of 100 combined harvesters, reducing losses by 80 percent and expecting a million metric tonnes of corn this year.”

In investing in education and infrastructure, Salman said Governor Bago has also prioritised education, meeting with examination bodies to set up a sustainable repayment plan for debt and ensuring the release of withheld results. “Additionally, his administration has initiated the Minna Urban Renewal Project, aiming to place the capital and other towns at par with developed cities in Nigeria.

“Security and economic development are not left out, as Governor Bago has demonstrated willingness to collaborate with local resources and the Federal Government.”

He has visited service chiefs and met with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to discuss security concerns.

His administration is promoting investment in agriculture, renewable energy, ICT, and education, hosting a Green Summit to unveil the Niger State Blueprint on Green Economy. His commitment to building a prosperous and resilient Niger State is evident in his visionary policies, key investments, and remarkable achievements. As the state continues on this transformative journey, citizens can expect a brighter future ahead,” Salman said.
