Taking a quick look at a few of Sunday’s NFL games, we are using the lines provided by our friends at BetOnline.
SEATTLE SEAHAWKS at JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS, 1 PM ET
From BetOnline: Pick’em / Total 47.5
That was a great win for the Jaguars against Kansas City on Monday night. But it was a strange game in that KC outgained them by a wide margin. There seemed to be something about what these guys have been doing. Only five teams have allowed their opponents to pass for more yards.
The Seahawks are an unusual Jekyll-and-Hyde team. Even with that whole “12th Man” thing going, they don’t seem to be able to win with any consistency on their own field, but they have won eleven of their last 12 road games.
Sam Darnold has completed 73% of his throws for 9.3 yards per attempt, which currently leads the league.

NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS at NEW ORLEANS SAINTS, 1 PM ET
From BetOnline: Patriots -3.5 (-104) / Total 46 (Over -105, Under -115)
The buzz is that the Patriots are ready for their ascent into wild card territory after their win at Buffalo. And there is no question that the effort of Drake Maye against the Bills (273 yards) was an eye-opener. The play of former Bill Stefon Diggs (146 yards) was a big part of this, as he made it personal. But you wonder whether some of these young teams coming off a “signature win” can get themselves “up” so easily the next week.
The Saints, truth be told, are not functioning as well as New England. But they are not just rolling over. And Spencer Rattler has not been a disaster. His QB rating is higher than Bo Nix, Brock Purdy and Trevor Lawrence.
Let’s not forget that the Patriots have not been too clever against the pass, surrendering 7.8 yards per attempt, which is the second worst figure in the NFL.
Yes, New Orleans is celebrating too (having beaten the Giants for their first win). But the Pats have been getting very favorable press clippings, and they can almost be forgiven if they’re having a bit of a letdown.

TENNESSEE TITANS at LAS VEGAS RAIDERS, 4:05 PM ET
From BetOnline: Raiders -4 / Total 41.5 (Over -107, Under -113)
What is a PCL, you may ask? Well, it is a Posterior Cruciate Ligament, and that’s the injury Brock Bowers has as his status for Sunday’s game against the Titans is contemplated.
Obviously Bowers’ productivity is a sizable consideration. He has been hampered this year by it, and so has the Las Vegas offense.
He didn’t play in last week’s 40-6 loss at Indianapolis, but the humiliation alone ought to be enough to motivate the Raiders. If it isn’t, then what purpose is Pete Carroll serving over there?
But seriously, this is a team electing to kick a field goal down 40-3 in the fourth quarter of a game.
Fortunately for them, Tennessee does not operate at the same efficiency level as Indy on offense. Instead, it’s quite the contrary. Even in a win over Arizona, the Titans barely got five yards a play. And they would have lost again if not for a bonehead play by a Cardinal running back, who dropped the ball before he crossed the goal line on a long run.
And if they had indeed lost, how would we be looking at this?
