NEMA Delivers Relief to Rainstorm Victims in Zamfara’s Bungudu/Maru Constituency



The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), in collaboration with the Zamfara State Emergency Management Agency (ZEMA), has distributed relief materials to victims of a recent rainstorm in Bungudu/Maru Federal Constituency, Zamfara State, to alleviate their suffering.

Aliyu Shehu Kafindangi, Head of NEMA’s Sokoto Operations Office, led the distribution effort, expressing sympathy for the affected communities and reaffirming NEMA’s commitment to prompt disaster response. 

He urged local governments to enhance community resilience through proactive policies and awareness campaigns to mitigate weather-related disasters, according to a statement from NEMA’s Sokoto office on September 1, 2025.

The distribution included food supplies approved by the Federal Government, delivered to the impacted communities. 

The exercise was overseen by Ashiru Yahaya Maru, representing the House Member for Bungudu/Maru Constituency, and Hassan Umar Dauran of ZEMA. 

Both commended the Federal Government’s swift intervention, noting that the aid would significantly ease the victims’ hardships.

Jamilu Umar, speaking for the beneficiaries, expressed gratitude to NEMA and the government, describing the relief as a timely lifeline for those affected by the rainstorm’s devastation.
