The National Orientation Agency (NOA) Director-General, Lanre Issa-Onilu, announced that the Nigeria Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has disbursed N59 billion to over 600,000 students in public tertiary institutions.
Speaking through Williams Dogo, NOA’s Director of Legal Services, at a Thursday news conference in Kano, Issa-Onilu said the scheme ensures access to education for eligible Nigerians.
The event marked the launch of five nationwide campaigns themed “Nationwide Sensitisation on Five Thematic Areas,” aimed at promoting government policies, national values, security awareness, and disaster preparedness.
Issa-Onilu also revealed that the Federal Ministry of Youth Development will support 150,000 youths with N110 billion through the National Youth Investment Fund.
Additionally, he highlighted a presidential directive allocating N3 billion per state in 2024 for flood mitigation, including drainage clearance and community relocation.
The NOA’s campaigns seek to boost public understanding of these initiatives, fostering greater engagement across Nigeria.
