The Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI) and OrderPaper are launching the Rembinar dialogue series.

The Rembinar series is a virtual platform for in-depth discussions on transparency, accountability, and natural resource governance, a statement by NEITI said.

It noted that the series will focus on the tax reforms agenda of President Bola Tinubu’s administration and its impact on the extractive sector.

According to Orji Ogbonnaya Orji, executive secretary of NEITI, “The Rembinar dialogue series comes at a critical juncture in our nation’s governance trajectory when extensive tax and fiscal reforms are being undertaken.”

He emphasised that NEITI is leveraging this initiative to engage stakeholders and promote transparency and accountability in Nigeria’s resource governance frameworks.

Oke Epia, executive director of OrderPaper, encouraged all stakeholders in public finance management to engage with the initiative, stating that “OrderPaper has always been at the forefront of policy reforms and stakeholder engagements in the resource governance sector.”

The inaugural episode, ‘Tax Bills and the Implications for NEITI Audits,’ will take place in March and will feature distinguished speakers, including Orji Ogbonnaya Orji and Mike Uzoigwe, policy expert on natural resource governance.
