DAMATURU – The Acting Vice-Chancellor of Yobe State University, Professor Bukar Jamri, has called on the Federal Government to reconsider universities in insurgency-affected states in allocating Needs Assessment Intervention Funds.
The Acting Vice-Chancellor made the call during an exit meeting with the Implementation Monitoring Committee on the Needs Assessment of Nigerian Public Universities.
Prof. Jamri emphasized that while the Yobe State Government has been supportive in allocating funds for the progress and development of the University, there is a strong need for the Federal Government to give priority to universities in states affected by insurgency to enable these institutions to recover and rebuild, ultimately contributing to the nation’s development.
