The Nasarawa State Police Command has arrested three suspected kidnappers allegedly involved in the abduction of one Favour Francis in the Lafia area of the state.
In a statement released on Monday by the command’s spokesperson, SP Ramhan Nansel, via X and sighted by PUNCH Metro, Francis was said to have been abducted around 10 p.m. on Friday, October 3.
He further stated that the Vigilante Group of Nigeria apprehended two suspects, identified as Dahiru Aliyu and Sayyadi Abubakar, on Sunday and handed them over to the police.

He added that the command’s tactical unit subsequently launched an investigation, which resulted in the arrest of one Abdulmumuni Isah in Lafia Township.
The statement read, “The Nasarawa State Police Command, in its unrelenting efforts to rid the state of criminal elements, has recorded another breakthrough with the arrest of suspected kidnappers involved in the abduction of one Miss Favour Francis of Ombi Anzaku, Lafia Local Government Area.
“On 05/10/2025 at about 0830hrs, the Vigilante Group of Nigeria Chairman of Ambana Village, Lafia, arrested and handed over two suspects — Dahiru Aliyu ‘M’ and Sayyadi Abubakar ‘M’ — to the police in connection with the said kidnapping incident which occurred on 03/10/2025 at about 2200hrs, but was not immediately reported to the police.
“Upon receipt of the suspects, the Commissioner of Police, Shettima Mohammed, ordered operatives of the command’s tactical unit to swiftly launch an investigation which led to the further arrest of one Abdulmumuni Isah ‘M’ of Angwan Nunku, Lafia Township.”
The statement further revealed that the suspect later guided operatives to the spot where their locally made rifle, five live cartridges, and the knife used to stab the victim were hidden.
Nansel added that during interrogation, two of the suspects confessed to the crime, while the command is intensifying efforts to capture the remaining gang members who are on the run and ensure they are brought to justice.
“The Commissioner of Police, Shettima Mohammed, commended the VGN and the gallant operatives for their prompt action and synergy that led to the arrests. He further called on residents to continue to provide useful information that would aid in the fight against criminal activities across the state,” he added.
