Napoli to end Victor Osimhen’s transfer saga this summer

7 hours ago 20

Napoli are reportedly ready to sell Victor Osimhen in the summer, aiming to capitalize on his €75 million release clause and invest the proceeds in multiple signings.

According to Fabrizio Romano (via SOSFanta), while there was speculation about a January move, negotiations never gained serious traction.

Osimhen, currently thriving on loan at Galatasaray, is expected to command his €75 million release clause, with Napoli keen to cash in.

The Nigerian forward has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League, but his primary focus remains securing a lucrative contract. Last year, he was open to a move to Saudi Arabia to maintain his €11million annual salary.

Chelsea previously explored a move for Osimhen but was only willing to offer € 7 million per year, falling short of his expectations. Meanwhile, Manchester United have reportedly identified the 25-year-old as their primary summer transfer target.

Sources at Turkish-Football indicate that Galatasaray are eager to sign Osimhen permanently but will face stiff competition from major European clubs.

United’s current attacking options, Rasmus Højlund and Joshua Zirkzee, have struggled for consistency, leaving the Red Devils in need of a prolific forward.

Zirkzee, who joined from Bologna for £36.5 million, has managed just three Premier League goals, intensifying United’s search for a reliable goalscorer.

Recruitment chief Ruben Amorim reportedly views Osimhen as the ideal solution to their goal-scoring woes.

However, any potential deal will likely depend on whether Osimhen is willing to adjust his £250,000-per-week wage demands to fit within United’s salary structure.

Other clubs like Juventus and PSG, who were previously linked to Osimhen, are unlikely to pursue him due to his high salary demands.
