The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) on Saturday confirmed that its Air Component of Operating Hadin Kai (AC OPHD) successfully neutralised over 25 terrorists in a coordinated night operation.
The operation took place in Bula, Yobe State, and Banki, Borno State on Thursday
Director of NAF Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, said the airstrikes were conducted following real-time intelligence from ground troops.

He explained, “Acting on reports from ground troops, a force package comprising Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) and attack aircraft were deployed.
“The ISR platform established contact with ground forces, tracked terrorist movements, and identified multiple groups around the north of Banki.”

Ejodame noted that updates from the ISR platform allowed for synchronized action with the strike aircraft, which engaged the terrorists in three successive precision strikes.
“This operation effectively neutralised more than 25 fighters. Post-strike surveillance confirmed ground forces in their defensive positions with no further threats observed in the area,” he added.
The NAF highlighted that the successful operation demonstrates its commitment to supporting ground forces, denying terrorists freedom of action, and ensuring the security of Nigeria’s North-East region.
Ejodame also emphasized the importance of coordination between air and ground units, saying, “Our decisive support to ground forces ensures that terrorists cannot operate freely, thereby protecting civilians and strengthening regional stability.”
