‘N1.3bn fraud’: Peter and I are guilty of crime Jude is accused of, Paul Okoye alleges

3 hours ago 25

Paul ‘Rudeboy’ Okoye, the Nigerian singer, has accused his twin brother Peter ‘Mr P’ Okoye of being behind the fraudulent charges brought against their older brother Jude Okoye.

Jude, who was their former manager, was arraigned on Wednesday on charges of laundering N1.38 billion, $1 million, and £34,537.59.

Rudeboy spoke on Friday shortly after attending Jude’s bail application hearing at the federal high court in Ikoyi, Lagos.

He claimed that Peter is trying to tarnish Jude’s image and that he will continue to support his elder brother and ensure he gets bail.

Rudeboy also implied that he and Mr P are also guilty of the same crime for which Jude is being accused.

“I am supporting him because I know the truth. Unfortunately, you journalists are making him look like a fraud. The truth is, Peter is the one putting him through this thing. Let us call a spade a spade,” he said.

“Peter is the one doing this. He is putting him in prison and I am here to bring him out. I am not denying Peter as my brother. It has nothing to do with this. I am only standing for the truth.

“But let me tell you something, the same crime that they are accusing him that he did, Peter and Paul are guilty.”

The court announced March 3 for ruling on Okoye’s bail application. The start of the trial has been scheduled for April 14.

BACKGROUND

The controversy began with the feud between Paul and Peter, which began in 2017. The rift led the brothers to split their group Psquare and pursue solo careers.

The twins were said to have parted ways after a disagreement on the role of Jude.

Though they reunited in November 2021, their reconciliation was short-lived.

In August 2024, Paul revealed another fallout, accusing Peter of orchestrating his arrest by the EFCC.

Peter, however, denied the allegations and accused Jude of diverting millions of dollars from their joint account into a secret company.

He said he was left with no choice but to involve the EFCC after Paul asked him to “do your worst” during their last conversation on the matter.

Responding to the accusations, Jude said he had done everything possible, even “sacrificing himself,” to mend the rift between his brothers.
