How did you get into the beauty world – cosmetics, beauty products, skincare etc?
I have always been passionate about beauty from an early age. I was captivated by how beauty can enhance confidence and empower individuals. I knew I wanted to own a beauty business and grow it into an empire. After years of research and immersing myself in the industry, I decided to create a brand that bridges affordability with luxury, offering high-quality products that are accessible yet indulgent. Again, our slogan is beauty that speaks literal and our aim is to create luxury, high quality and affordable beauty products. We believe every woman is a queen and every skin should be treated with the utmost love and care which is why our products are paraben free and hypoallergenic. Some of our products helps protect the barriers of the skin. So, it is safe to say our products are very safe for delicate skin.
How did you rise to stardom as a successful serial entrepreneur? Share an experience that blew you and your companies up?
My rise has been multifaceted, blending my passion and expertise across different industries. In the beauty world, one pivotal moment was when I started doing the makeup of top celebrities and powerful businesswomen like Omotola Jalade Ekeinde, Mo Abudu, Mercy Johnson Okojie, and others. I also had bank MDs and first ladies as clients. Their trust in my work amplified my brand’s visibility and credibility.
On the other side, my construction company has successfully handled various projects for government and private companies. My stint in real estate also complements my entrepreneurial journey. With a balance in these ventures, it has also been a rewarding challenge because I showcase my ability to thrive in diverse fields while staying true to my goals. These experiences have been instrumental in cementing my reputation as a multifaceted entrepreneur.
What was your parents’ reaction when you left regular paid job to delve into the beauty world? Parents then wanted their children to be professionals. How did they feel then and now that you have pulled through?
Initially, my parents were a bit withdarwn. Truth is that so many parents valued traditional career paths and were not sure of the beauty industry’s potential. My mother supported me because she saw my determination. Now, seeing how far I have come and the impact I have made so far, they are proud of me. Their unwavering support means the world to me.
How are you coping with the rise?
The rise has been exciting, but comes with challenges. I stay grounded by focusing on my purpose, empowering people through beauty. I also try to lean on my team and ensure I prioritize self-care. I believe that balance is crucial.
What opportunities have your beauty brand brought you? What challenges have the rise brought as well?
My brand has opened doors to collaborations with inspiring individuals, global recognition, and the chance to influence the beauty industry meaningfully. However, challenges will always abound. They include maintaining authenticity amidst rapid growth and meeting high customer expectations. Navigating these moments has only made me and the brand stronger.
How is society treating you, especially dealing with celebrities? Share an experience.
Society has been incredibly supportive, and I have been fortunate to earn the trust of some of the most influential figures in entertainment and business industry. One unforgettable experience was working on a high-profile event where I was entrusted to do the makeup for multiple celebrities. It was a whirlwind of energy, with back-to-back transformations, but the results were magical. Seeing my work showcased on such a grand stage, with compliments pouring in, was progress for me.
What struck me most was the genuine connections I built with these personalities. Many of them have since become more like family, sharing their love for our products and helping us reach even greater heights. It is at such moments that remind me how far I have come and the importance of relationships in building a lasting legacy.
How was growing up? Talk about your family, parents, siblings, and extended relatives?
Growing up was filled with love and support. My parents instilled strong values in me – resilience, kindness, and the importance of pursuing my dreams. My siblings have always been my cheerleaders, and my extended family who have created a close-knit community. Those formative years shaped my determination and compassion, and I am forever grateful for that foundation.
What advice would you give aspiring female entrepreneurs, especially those stepping into the beauty world?
Believe in your vision and never let fear hold you back. The beauty industry is competitive, but there is always room for innovation and authenticity. Again, surround yourself with supportive people, stay committed to learning, and trust the process. Your unique voice and perspective are your biggest assets, therefore, embrace them.
