My Dismissal As Cameroon Coach Was Driven By Eto’O

Former Cameroon coach Marc Brys has accused the federation’s president, Samuel Eto’o, of dismissing him from his managerial role.

Recall that Brys was sacked just 20 days before the start of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

In a chat with Sporza, the Belgian tactician stated that he was sacked without any legitimate reasons.

“In my opinion, he exploited this situation to carry out an illegal and ridiculous stunt.”

The Belgian continued: “He eliminated all positions at the Ministry of Sport, including the national team’s coaching staff, and filled them with people of his own choosing.

“Firing everyone without a valid reason seems completely illegal to me. You can’t act like this without a legitimate reason.

“Just before an important tournament for our national team, he appoints unprepared people. They are thrown to the wolves. This doesn’t happen anywhere else in the world.

“Samuel Eto’o’s goal has always been to get rid of me. From the first minute he insulted me and I reacted. I’d had enough; there’s too much negativity to do a good job.”
