Muslims biggest victims – Buhari’s ex-aide reacts as bandits attack mosque, murder 27

Bashir Ahmad, former media aide to late President Muhammadu
Buhari, has said that Muslims are the major victims of the wanton killings
being carried out by the daredevil bandits in many parts of the nation.

Recall that bandits on Tuesday morning attacked worshippers
at a mosque in the Malumfashi Local Government Area of Katsina State, killing
several persons.

According to a recent update from the state government, the
death toll on Wednesday, rose to 32, while many are still being treated in the
hospital.

Reacting, Bashir, in a post on X lamented that though the
security crisis in the country has no religious inclination, the Muslims are
the most targeted.

He wrote, “At least 27 people were killed and several others
wounded when bandits/terrorists attacked a mosque in Malumfashi, Katsina state,
during morning prayers.

“A reason why I am always angered when I see stories
deliberately twisting the narrative to push the false impression that Muslims
are killing Christians in Nigeria, while in reality, Muslims are being killed
ten times more.

“The killings in Nigeria have nothing to do with religion,
because if these killers were actual Muslims, they would never dare to take
innocent lives, for in Islam, killing one innocent soul is as if you have
killed the whole of humanity.

“It hurts deeply when Muslims are unfairly blamed for the
violence in this country, when in fact, we are the biggest victims of these atrocities.

“We stand in full support of our security agencies, who for
more than a decade have been sacrificing everything to fight terrorism and
banditry.

“I pray for peace in Nigeria. May Allah bring us lasting
peace and security in every part of Nigeria”.
