MTN Nigeria has today announced that it has successfully restored network services across 101 sites in 15 Local Government Areas (LGAs) in Adamawa, Borno, and Kano States. This follows a scheduled network maintenance operation completed on Sunday, August 24, 2025.
The company carried out the maintenance to address infrastructure challenges affecting its operations in the region. The operation involved redirecting traffic to a newly installed fibre span along the AFCOT–Bawo Village route in Adamawa State.
The upgrade replaced a previously damaged section of the network.
Confirming the completion of maintenance and restoration of service in the region, MTN Nigeria, in a press release, said, “We can confirm that all impacted sites have been fully restored, and services are now operating normally. We appreciate our subscribers’ patience and sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused during the downtime.”
MTN completed the work within the planned timeframe, with full service restoration achieved before 1 PM on August 24, according to the company’s press statement.
The affected services included 2G, 3G, 4G, and enterprise connectivity. Temporary disruptions impacted users in LGAs such as Girei, Song, Mubi North, Hong, and Michika in Adamawa; Askira/Uba and Shani in Borno; and Nasarawa in Kano.
MTN confirmed that all affected sites are now fully operational. The company apologised for any inconvenience caused and thanked subscribers for their patience.
